DRIVER & SAFEY AWARENESS

DRIVER & SAFETY AWARENESS

MAKHUSHU TRANSPORT has its own SHEQ officer who ensures that on appointment, every driver goes through a strict induction process and safety awareness programme. This induction and awareness programme is a prerequisite for all drivers employed by Makhushu Transport. Due to the nature of our fleet and variety of clients, some of the drivers are required to possess different certificates for operating some of our equipment which accompanies the truck they may be driving such as cranes or slings. We view all our employees as valuable assets and all necessary training where required is financed by our company.

All drivers upon appointment are issued with two sets of necessary protective clothing which includes reflectice overalls and waistcoat, safety boots, safety glasses, gloves and a helmet. Where drivers will be working with hazardous substances or products, safety measures will be taken to meet our client's expectations.

In transport, a majority of the accidents are due to driver fatigue after working long hours which is why we at Makhushu have incorporated double drivers per rig with each driver handling either day or night shift. This is to ensure that no driver is exploited or worked beyond their capability. We have a tracking system in every truck which allows for driver supervision remotely as well as tracking the location of any given truck at any given time. Our drivers are also not allowed to exceed an 80km/h speed limit which greatly reduces the possibility of accidents.
